Care and use

Looking after your Villeroy & Boch glassware

Washing

  1. Dishwasher-safe glasses: place them securely so they do not knock together, on the top rack, on a gentle or glass cycle that is short and low in temperature.
  2. Check the product details: not all glasses are dishwasher-safe, and long-stemmed wine glasses should generally be washed by hand.
  3. By hand: use a soft cloth, warm water and a mild washing-up liquid, holding the glass by the stem; rinse in lukewarm water, then dry carefully and polish if needed.

Avoiding damage

  1. Glass corrosion: caused by high temperatures and strong cleaning agents, so use a mild detergent and a low temperature.
  2. Temperature: avoid very hot or very cold water; sudden temperature changes can make glass or crystal crack or shatter.
  3. Storage: keep clean glasses in their original box to protect them from dust and stains.
