Care and use

Looking after your ceramics

Cleaning

  1. Wash before first use and ensure items are washed promptly after each use.
  2. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for wash temperature, rinse cycle and detergent dosage; assess water hardness and use water softeners if required.
  3. Use plastic or rubber scrapers to remove excess food residue; metal utensils or abrasives may damage the glazed surface.
  4. Never wash cutlery or other metal items amongst ceramic products; wash them separately in cutlery baskets.

Heat

  1. Do not subject the product to sudden extreme changes in temperature, such as direct from a freezer to a hot oven or grill.

Storage

  1. Use the appropriate racks where possible and make sure handles and spouts do not knock together.
  2. Keep contact with metal surfaces and other metal products to a minimum to reduce metal marking.

Good to know

  1. Matt glazed and coloured products tend to show wear more than standard glazed white items; like all matt glazes, cutlery could mark them.
